This is a non-merit position. Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.The Company Regulation Bureau is looking for an Insurance Examiner 3.
This position will work with the Captive Bureau and the Company Regulation Bureau. The Examiner 3 provides professional oversight of entities engaged in the business of insurance by performing performing initial licensing, analysis, and examination assignments.
Insurance Examiners focus on the oversight of financial and related business records to assess risk and determine compliance with insurance laws and regulations. The Examiner 3 also trains and advises staff. The Examiner 3 may focus on an area of technical expertise (e.g., captive insurers, insurance holding companies, reinsurance, investments, information systems, loss reserves, rating/pricing of insurance products, enterprise risks management, captives, and long-term care/senior health insurance policies, legal oversight/interpretation).
May support members of management on NAIC working groups. An Accredited Financial Examiner (AFE), Certified Financial Examiner (CFE), Automated Examination Specialist (AES), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
