Focused Ultrasound for Alzheimer's Disease:
RNI is pioneering the use of focused ultrasound (FUS) with microbubbles to open the blood-brain barrier in patients with Alzheimer's disease. This technique, combined with anti-beta amyloid antibodies, aims to improve the removal of beta-amyloid plaques, potentially treating the root cause of Alzheimer's.
Focused Ultrasound for Addiction:
RNI led the world's first human trial using FUS technology for neuromodulation in patients with substance use disorder. This non-invasive approach targets brain regions like the nucleus accumbens to reduce cravings and substance intake.
