Job Summary:
Providers with the Division of Hospital Medicine provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses at UW Health practice sites. They are also provided the opportunity to grow the next generation of physicians through hands-on instruction of residents, fellows, and medical students.

Responsibilities:
Clinical track duties:
The incumbent will be expected to provide clinical patient care, admitting and managing hospital inpatients. The incumbent will also provide medical consultation within the hospital; teach residents, medical students, fellows in relation to patients on the hospitalist service; and participate in system-wide quality improvement projects at UW Health approved locations.
CHS track duties:
The incumbent will be expected to provide clinical patient care, admitting and managing hospital inpatients. The incumbent will also provide medical consultation within the hospital; teach residents, medical students, fellows in relation to patients on the hospitalist service; and participate in system-wide quality improvement projects at UW Health approved locations. Participation in research endeavors of the Division expected.
The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Qualifications:
Candidates for Associate Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for CHS or Clinical Track.
License/Certification:
Must be eligible for Wisconsin Medical Licensure by the start date.
Must be Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine by the start date. Eligible certifications include the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), or American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine (AOBFM).

Additional Information:
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you chose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.
