Job Summary

The Student Assistant will support the Campus Recreation and Intramurals as a Southern Adventures Bike Mechanic on the Statesboro Campus beginning Spring 2025.

Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

This position is a part of CRI's Job Fair, October 28 - November 15, 2024.

Responsibilities

* Provides customer service, assists customers with basic bicycle maintenance questions, and gives bike riding lessons

* Installs and removes bike accessories including lights, baskets, computers, kickstands, and assemble/disassemble bicycles

* Installs and replaces components

* Fits customers to bikes and helmets

* Correctly identifies broken or damaged components prior to bike check in

* Handles emergency situations including the administration of basic First Aid/CPR

* Maintains a clean and safe work environment

Shift Specifics

* Up to 25 hours per week

* Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

* Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

* Prior bicycle mechanic experience

Proposed Salary

$9. 00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
