*Role Definition*

To design and develop moderately complex product and component concepts for release to production in a manner to ensure superior performance, durability, reliability, quality, and serviceability to the worldwide marketplace. Helps maintain top level configurations.

*Responsibilities*

Generate drawing packages in AutoCAD Electrical consisting of front elevations, floor plan layouts, control overviews, and communications plans.

Interpret customer drawings and internal quoting documents to develop switchgear drawings.

Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum or equivalent experience.

*Data Gathering & Analysis:* Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.

_Level Basic Understanding:_

Describes alternative data-gathering techniques and tools.

Documents basic data-gathering methodologies.

Identifies key details in reviewing customer drawings and specifications.

*Decision Making and Critical Thinking:* Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

_Level Basic Understanding:_

Explains characteristics and steps in designing solutions for customers.

Identifies issues and communicates with others when a decision needs to be made.

Define the critical information in AutoCAD blocks to capture design requirements and create the associations needed for accurate wiring and assembly drawings.

*Level Working Knowledge:*

Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient.

Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.

Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.

Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.

Knowledge of low voltage switchgear and medium voltage switchgear is a plus.

Knowledge of control systems design is a plus.

Knowledge of AutoCAD Vault for drawing management is a plus.
