Class Summary

The Deputy Division Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of the One Stop 4 Help and Veteran and Family Services areas of the Health and Human Services division. This position is responsible for coordination, planning, organizing, implementation, evaluation, and administration of all components of the One Stop for Help community resource support area of Health and Human Services. This position will leverage their knowledge with the goals of both the county and its partners to devise sustainable social determinant of health solutions that will provide the foundation for positive community relationship development with health, human, and social service community partners to encompass the community-centric needs of Gwinnett.

Essential Duties

Supervising staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Overseeing daily operations of section to include making routine inspections, assessing compliance with regulations, and making and implementing changes for improvements and compliance. Is responsible for oversight of Program Coordinator and Program Analyst and the operational responsibilities that include data driven analysis, special projects, and other important initiatives under the OS4H.
Acting as the liaison for the Gwinnett County Veteran and Family Services area of Health and Human Services and is responsible for oversight of that area as it relates to community navigation, support, programming, and operational support with internal and external partners involved onsite.
Reviewing, analyzing, and authorizing all program expenditures and costs.
Working with community groups and organizations to develop resources and is responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs and projects related to human services with other division areas of Health and Human Services and the Department of Community Services, as well as other internal departments in the County critical to the success of the operations.
Preparing specifications for proposals related to human services and evaluates responses.

Public Speaking Duties

Conducting community outreach presentations with internal and external stakeholders
This position will include and encompass' the act of delivering speeches or presentations to the public and also, actively engaging with individuals in community settings, such as in street outreach, on project sites, or at community events.

Grade
The grade for this position is 105.

Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related public policy and social services field.
Five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Two years of supervisory experience required.
Valid driver's license from state of residency.
CPR certificate must be obtained within six months of employment.
