Certified MRI Technologist or ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have:
- Excellent communication skills - Ability to function independently and under pressure - Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask - Understanding of anatomy and pathology - Competence in all aspects of MRI, patient positioning, pulse sequence parameters, and magnet safety
- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
• Follow established procedures for administering contrast media, ensuring patient safety.
• Ensure proper patient identification and review images for clinical acceptability.
• Organize schedule, time, and priorities to meet department needs.
• Prepare and administer contrast, checking patient's GFR and dosing of contrast.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using the Dynacad, if applicable.
• Respond to emergency situations and assist other technologists as needed.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment following infection control policies.
• Explain the purpose and nature of exams to patients to minimize anxiety and facilitate cooperation.
• Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
• Produce acceptable images by following established exam protocols.
• Maintain MRI suite safely and restock linens and supplies.
• Transport and position patients for procedures.
• Maintain compliance with all health system policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
• Take on-call duties as necessary and perform other assigned duties.
