The Senior Cloud Engineer will help create and maintain our infrastructure, which is hosted on AWS and Cloudflare; build and maintain deployment pipelines and release automation tooling, work hand in hand with multiple platform and application development teams to test new ideas and projects; assist developers with questions about the AWS infrastructure; deliver on IAM needs; identify and remediate security concerns; and help solve our current and future scaling and performance challenges, including designing entirely new iterations of our platform. You will be trusted with a high degree of autonomy: teamwork and collaboration are fundamental to our ability to solve problems and accomplish our goals.
You Have:
5+ years of experience with major third-party cloud infrastructure and container orchestration: some flavor of Kubernetes, AWS, and EKS preferred
5+ years of experience handling application support in production (including on-call)
3+ years of Python, Go, or similar experience
3+ years of experience with Terraform, ideally in AWS
3+ years of experience with GitLab/Github, ArgoCD and Helm/Kustomize
Prior startup experience - it would be difficult for this to be your first startup
A love for all things automation and a touch-it-once attitude
An understanding that infrastructure is only as good as it is reliable, observable, and secure. Those characteristics are foundational to everything you create
A self-starting attitude: you look for problems to solve rather than waiting to be told where to look or what to do
Nice to Have A degree in an engineering-related field (math, CS, engineering, physics)
Healthcare experience (or experience in another highly regulated industry, such as fintech; direct experience with HIPAA/HITRUST audits is a strong plus)
Familiarity with Cloudflare's edge stack or/and Ambassador/Envoy would be a plus
Familiarity with Datadog is a plus; however, experience with a similar observability/monitoring tool (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Prometheus) and something to display the data (e.g. Grafana) is still relevant
Experience with information security considerations in the cloud, particularly in a zero-trust environment
