Overview

The Operations Supervisor role operates in a fast-paced environment, focusing on achieving productivity goals and ensuring the smooth execution of all order shipping processes. The Operations Supervisor oversees daily activities in the PM shipping department, managing team members and implementing strategies to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety while ensuring timely order fulfillment according to customer service level agreements (SLAs).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Management reserves the right to modify or add responsibilities.

Supervise daily operations of the shipping department, driving continuous improvement and lean practices to boost output and accuracy.
Optimize picking and packing processes through strategic planning of movement within the distribution center.
Resolve order issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to meet SLAs.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on department KPIs; review exception reports daily.
Assess staffing requirements, schedule team members, and manage within budget guidelines.
Motivate and engage employees through effective leadership, training, and mentoring.
Conduct performance evaluations and engage employees in the review process.
Monitor, evaluate, and update shipping procedures as needed; document all processes.
Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with internal and external audits.
Regularly inspect warehouse facilities and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained.
Foster cross-departmental communication and collaboration in a professional manner.
Enforce safety standards across all areas of responsibility.

QualificationsSkills & Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Associate or bachelor's degree, or a combination of education and related experience.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution environment.
Strong background in performance metrics, process improvement, and problem-solving.
Experience managing the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, and terminations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with warehouse management systems.
Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective documentation, reporting, and presentations.
Proven ability to drive a culture of safety through regular coaching, training, and observation.
