SALARY RANGE

$57,000. 06 - $62,110. 10 Annually $2,192. 31 - $2,388. 85 Bi-weekly

Position Summary

The position involves managing, coordinating, and carrying out technical functions of the Human Resource Office. It is a highly responsible professional position that necessitates the ability to perform a significant portion of duties assigned with minimum supervision, work well with staff and all levels of management, and provide excellent customer service.

The incumbent must also use discretion and independent judgment in completing job duties, which include, but are not limited to, complying with all guidelines for handling confidential information, being productive under stringent time frames, and balancing multiple priorities. Professionalism, teamwork, and consistent attendance are essential functions of this position.

The Work You Will Do

Perform independent and complex HR functions, including employee and labor-related functions that affect the efficient operation and management of the Human Resource Office. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Coordinates the EEO and Affirmative Action (AA) program and e nsures compliance with state and federal employment laws, equal opportunity, and civil rights policies/procedures.

• Investigates and responds to complaints alleging violation(s) of employment laws, Civil Rights laws, employee misconduct, harassment, and/or retaliation.

• Participates in developing and implementing department goals, training, systems, and policies and procedures.

• Manages the Agency's interactive ADA process for staff.

• Manages the Agency's performance management process.

• Manages the reemployment process.

• Helps employees, supervisors, and department heads to settle work-related conflicts through advice consultations and recommendations.

• Prepares statistical and narrative reports, including comprehensive reports for reviews.

• Works with various HR and related management and record keeping systems.

• As needed, assists with other functional areas within Human Resources/Employee Relations, including the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP), Disciplinary Actions, and Workers' Compensation.

• Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

At least four years of professional Human Resources/Personnel experience in Employee/Labor Relations, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Civil Rights programs, personnel, interviewing, or counseling.

Two years of professional experience performing HR and labor relations functions, including progressive responsibility with dispute resolution programs and internal complaints, grievance handling or investigations, and performance management.

A valid Driver's License to travel for work purposes.

Travel to surrounding areas, including overnight stays, for job responsibilities and to serve as an essential team member assisting with emergency operations as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge of:

• The basic principles of personnel administration

• Research tools, personal computers, data collection, and analysis methods.

• HR subject areas of employee relations, employee discipline, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Family Supportive Work Program (FSWP), the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Workers' Compensation, performance management, labor relations, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and records management.

Ability to:

• Work with minimal supervision.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

• Hold sensitive and confidential information in confidence.

• Understand and apply applicable human resource rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
