Gas Turbine Mechanical Engineer

The GT Engineer is responsible for the design of gas turbine auxiliary equipment packages. The primary systems that this role will be responsible for are Heat Exchangers, Modular Enclosures, Fuel Gas Conditioning Equipment, Fire Fighting Systems, Lube Oil Units, and Compressor Blade Washing Units. This role will work closely to understand the customer's needs to design packages that meet all code and contract requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret P&IDs and other technical documentation to define system interface requirements.
• Perform calculations to confirm proper equipment sizing.
• Develop inquiry and purchase specifications for mechanical equipment.
• Conduct technical evaluations and provide vendor recommendations.
• Review vendor designs to ensure compliance with codes, contracts, and internal standards.
• Verify arrangement and foundation interface information for requirement alignment.
• Qualify vendors through technical assessments.
• Specify and analyze test results.
• Create standard drawings and specifications.
• Identify and implement design improvements.
• Develop and maintain schedules for engineering deliverables.
• Conduct regular meetings with vendors to confirm technical and schedule requirements are met.
• Address technical inquiries from customers, vendors, and field personnel.
• Integrate parent company design requirements into projects.
• Establish procedures to optimize resource use and deliver high-quality design packages.
• Develop cost-reduction concepts for systems.
• Ensure that code requirements are accurately defined, incorporated in designs, and communicated to vendors.
• Provide management with regular project status updates.
• Interpret technical requirements from end customer contracts and integrate them into system designs.
• Implement corrective actions to address nonconformities and improve quality.
• Prepare communications for vendors and other engineering departments.
• Travel up to 10% to customer sites.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of experience fabrication and manufacturing of GT Equipment
• Experience with rotating equipment is preferred
• Proficient in MS Office
