Join our clinician team as we prepare to move into our brand new multispecialty clinic space composed of adult, pediatric, women's health, behavioral health, and dental, opening Fall 2024! Student loan repayment available through HRSA.
Serves as a primary care physician. This involves the delivery of family oriented medical care services appropriate for a comprehensive, rural healthcare delivery system with a multicultural, multilingual patient population. Work performance is reviewed for conformance to policies, procedures, and practices related to family health care delivery.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assesses and examines patients, reviews past medical history and requests and/or performs/recommends diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case.
Adheres to the highest standards of medical practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
Makes preliminary diagnosis, directs, prescribes or provides treatment or arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required.
Ensures the provision of timely follow-up care and services as required.
Provides primary health care services in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Utilizes the Center's Electronic Health Record for documentation of all patient related care
Provides emergency care as appropriate.
Manages and oversees all adult medical, pediatric, and women's health care cases that do not require referral.
Provides total patient care including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services to patients under his/her care.
Adheres to industry standard of practice in the delivery of primary health care services.
Identifies risk management issues and brings to the attention of the Chief Executive Officer and/or CMO/ Medical Director.
Through the process of evaluating the patient, a treatment plan is developed that is appropriate with the patient's current symptoms and clinical findings.
Reviews the patient's medications, diet, therapy course, adherence to management plan and patient observations. Instructs and counsels patients and their families on medical concerns.
Refers patients to appropriate recognized medical specialist as necessary, providing complete clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided onsite.
Ensures preparation of appropriate medical records of all patients seen to ensure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care.
Prepares clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under his/her care to physicians, hospitals and other individuals and facilities.
Provides oversight of CLIA waived tests.
Collaborates with allied health professionals (i.e. Nurse Practitioners, Behavioral Health Counselors, Dentists and Physician Assistants) to provide effective interdisciplinary health care services and assists in their professional development.
Provides supervision in case assignment to allied health professionals, including sign off on charts and chart-review as required by both the Health Center and the licensing board of the allied professional.
Supervises medical assistants in area of specific support services pertinent to the delivery of care for patients.
Obtains and maintains active or courtesy staff privileges at hospitals in the area and as required by the professional liability insurance carrier.
Attends internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences, as necessary to maintain continuing medical education requirements and/or as required by the Health Center.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to assess the quality of patient care provided to Center patients.
Ability to maintain patient medical records.
Skills in providing diagnostic, preventive and/or therapeutic services to patients.
Must be able to work with confidential material without betraying the trust of patients, families or the company.
Knowledge of the cultural and social backgrounds of Ellis and surrounding counties and the service area population.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an accredited medical school, internship, and successful completion of the certification examination of the American Board Specialty Organization (Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine Preventive Medicine, Other Specialty)
A permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas.
Board certified or eligible in a primary care specialty or preventive medicine.
Current medication dispensing license, both federal (DEA) and state (DPS).
Experience and training must have been progressive and responsible, demonstrating good knowledge of current principles, practices, methods and techniques in the field of medicine.
Medical experience in an outpatient family medical clinic including pediatrics, general adult medicine, women's health medical care and non-emergency care.
Must have updated Immunization (IZ) record.
Must have annual Tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
Must maintain a valid CPR, BLS, and ACLS Certificate during employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing is required.
Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics/techniques when performing patient examinations, making patient transfers and assisting patients with physical tasks.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
May be required to handle stressful situations resulting from diverse patients and demands.
