Professionals in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis are responsible for utilizing spatial data and technologies to analyze and visualize geographic information for decision-making and problem-solving within organizations. They utilize their expertise in GIS software, spatial analysis, and cartography to extract insights and patterns from spatial data and support various applications across industries. Typical responsibilities include collecting and compiling geographic data from various sources, such as satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and digital maps, and creating and maintaining GIS databases and datasets. GIS analysis roles also involve performing spatial analysis techniques, such as overlay analysis, proximity analysis, and network analysis, to analyze relationships and patterns within geographic data and derive actionable insights.
For this position, the Environmental Data/GIS Specialist provides technical and program level support to various DoD clients in the areas of managing and transforming environmental data in order to elucidate conditions to internal and external clients. As part of our robust technical support, the Environmental Data/GIS Specialist manages extensive environmental datasets, including the compilation and transformation of data, appending of data from various sources, and regular updates when new sampling data is available. The Noblis Data Specialist then creates visualizations from this data for use in understanding complex environmental conditions and recommending a path forward for complex DoD environmental sites.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
