Engineering Lead

Land Pride Engineering Lead - Implements - Salina, KS

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, currently has an opening for an Engineering Lead to join the Implement and Attachment Development team.

This position works M-Th from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (4-day workweek) at the Salina, KS Land Pride Product Engineering Facility. Some out of state travel is required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
Lead and supervise Implement engineering team, and plan activities to maintain project schedules
Develop criteria for design, manufacture, or construction of agricultural equipment.
Direct, review, and approve product design and changes, and directs testing.
Direct and coordinate manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.
Plan and develop experimental test programs.
Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
Confer with research and other engineering personnel and prepares design modifications as required.
Evaluate engineering test results for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, and confer with management, production, and product management to plan and assess feasibility of project.
Work with sourcing department to identify and select component suppliers.
Work with manufacturing and quality departments to support component and machine production.
Work with LP service department to address field service issues and implement design changes as necessary.
Evaluate team member performance and coach team members for improvement.
Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or agricultural engineering or related field
5 plus years of experience within a design engineering team - product design experience preferred
Excellent computer skills, i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Windchill
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage department staff in a team environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely troubleshoot/diagnose problems
Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, structural, and mechanical drive systems
Availability to travel out of state for multiple days during peak seasons
