Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer. The selected candidate will be employed at the Savannah River National Laboratory, in Advanced Engineering.
Responsibilities
Initial focus will be on automation, robotics, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition system development.
We are seeking creative, flexible, and self-motivated individuals able to lead multidisciplinary teams and individually to develop one-of-a-kind engineering solutions in a safe and responsible manner.
Ideal candidates are engineers capable of developing, designing, fabricating, assembling, testing, calibrating, and deploying systems to meet unique complex technical challenges. Expected to deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Understands and applies advanced knowledge of standard theories, concepts, principles, and techniques in engineering.
Prepare technical manuals, reports, procedures, and invention disclosures.
Candidates should have the ability to develop technical scopes of work, schedules, and budgets for proposed projects.
Engineers are expected to track project schedules and budgets while guiding early career engineers.
Use SRNL systems and meet requirements with minimal supervisory guidance.
PLC System development and programming experience
Accepts complex tasks and drive projects to completion delivering results expected by the customer.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
BS + 4-6 yrs; MS + 3-5 yrs; PhD + 2-4 yrs of relevant experience.
Degree in Electrical
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree and 3-5 years of experience
Experience in an equipment development environment
Experience developing Control Systems, Data Acquisition
PLC System development and programming experience including AI, Sensor Integration, or Machine Learning.

Weapons Production Technology (WPT) is a world leader in tritium fuel cycles with a strong industrial partnership, including most private companies working on fusion research.
