The AFI Product Line is looking for an Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration and test of cutting-edge aircraft- and ground-based electronic systems.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide.
The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
Interconnect design including wiring harnesses, system interconnect definition, and schematics
Integration and test of new products (ranging from prototype to full-rate production)
Radio Frequency (RF) component and system-level testing
CCA design including schematic capture, PCB layout support, and Bill of Materials (BOM) definition
Troubleshooting and repairs of previously fielded equipment
Development of test equipment and fixturing
Potential to gain experience with system and software testing
MIL-STD and industry-standard qualification testing, including Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals
Ability to work with standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience testing Radio Frequency (RF) systems or assemblies
Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA), circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis
Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)
Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture
Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools
Experience with RF testing, including Network Analyzers, Signal generators, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, etc.
