What You'll Work on
As an Electrical Engineer on our renewable energy product team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical circuits and systems. We build weather monitoring sensors, stations and station components for the solar energy market.
You'll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks
Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific's core ARCTIC values - Accountability, Respect, Client-Centric, Teamwork, Innovation, Continuous Improvement.
Design and develop electrical circuits and systems.
Test and evaluate electrical systems and equipment.
Collaborate with production to produce the designed device or system.
Stay up-to-date with new technologies and advancements in the field of electrical engineering.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
A minimum of 3 years' experience in electrical engineering.
A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Strong knowledge of electrical hardware and circuit design
Knowledge of electrical circuit protection from surge events.
Comfortable with both AC and DC power design.
An understanding of both power budgets in systems and RS-485 or other serial communication protocols.
An ability to perform a comprehensive component comparison to ensure that the best component is chosen for a system.
An ability to fully understand the customer's perspective to design easy-to-use equipment for them.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical
Proficiency in Altium
Experience using PLC, Datalogger, Single board computers, or microcontroller type devices to communicate to sensors.
Experience with regulatory and compliance standards such as IEC, UL, and CE.
Familiarity with communication protocols such as SDI-12, SPI, I2C, and RS-232.
Comfortable with C/C++ programming languages.
Experience with switching power supply design.
Experience with different battery chemistries and behaviors.
Experience with mix signal design using ADC's and DAC's.
Work Environment
General office environment with assigned workstations, computer, and other hardware peripherals.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit and use computer for extended periods of time and may occasionally be required to lift up to 25lbs.
