The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for managing daily warehouse operations, including overseeing inventory control, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring safe and efficient workflows. This role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and optimizing processes to support organizational objectives. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for inventory safety, accuracy, training, and documentation.
Oversees operations for a portion of a warehouse or during an assigned shift.
Coordinates a team that receives, stores, and distributes materials, equipment, and/or supplies.
Tracks inventory by performing physical counts and verifying information against warehousing systems.
Monitors operations for compliance with regulations governing materials handling, storage, and distribution where applicable.
Oversees the accuracy of inventory counts and ensures that all items are properly stored and tracked within the warehouse.
Oversees inventory reports to monitor stock levels and identify trends.
Implements best practices to optimize inventory control processes and reduce waste.
Oversees incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.
Oversees the loading and unloading of trucks and ensures that all shipments are properly packaged and labeled.
Maintains accurate records of shipments, including tracking information and delivery receipts.
Identifies opportunities to improve warehouse processes and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Develops and implements standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and effective warehouse operations.
Trains and supervises warehouse staff to ensure compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
Ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
Conducts regular safety inspections and ensures that all warehouse staff are properly trained in safe operating procedures.
Implements and maintains emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all employees in the event of an emergency.
Regularly leads and directs the work of other employees.
Makes recommendations for personnel decisions related to hiring, promotion, and separations carrying significant weight.
Manages the day-to-day operations of a specific team within the department.
Regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in handling team tasks and challenges.
Primarily engaged as a supervisor, the worker actively contributes to the management of the enterprise by assisting in employee training, assigning job duties, and participating in determining changes in employee status, while also adhering to established management policies, addressing disciplinary matters, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives assigned by leadership.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
Minimum 2-3+ years of warehousing experience
Must be able to drive forklift and organize materials.
Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 2 years of experience.
Licensed stand up and sit-down forklift experience is a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be over 21 years of age.
Must be able to work at least 40 hours a week. Flexible availability to work both days and evenings plus some weekends.
Available for on-site operations work Monday-Friday.
Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities- not hours; must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk, and/or working on a computer.
Able to stand up to 4 hours at a time.
Ability to operate Reach Forklift and pallet jacks.
Ability to work in multi-temperature environments, hot or cool.
Be able to stand, bend, kneel, squat, and twist for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
