Engineered Air Movement is a segment within the SPX HVAC platform with businesses including Tamco Dampers, Strobic Air Technologies, and Cincinnati Fan. How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)
This position's primary purpose is to lead and direct manufacturing operations including multi-site facilities, continuous improvement, and materials management functions with the aim of increasing performance in safety, quality, customer service, delivery, cost and inventory. This position is both strategic and tactical in nature and will drive rapid, measurable, and sustained continuous improvement for integrated operations. This role will also include due diligence and integration activities related to M&A. Key to this role will be leadership of the improvement process of materials management resulting in improved customer service levels and improved cash flow through the reduction of working capital. Additionally, this position is responsible for the master scheduling process optimizing customer service levels, quality, throughput, inventory turns, assets, operating expense, and EHS around critical performance metrics. This role has a high degree of presence and involvement with critical organizational functions requiring mentoring to key leaders to improve the overall performance of the business, aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

Strategic Planning and Production Management
Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that support company objectives.
Lead and manage the operations team to achieve production goals.
Collaborate with executive leadership to set long-term manufacturing goals and objectives.
Oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient and timely production of products.
Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and company targets.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Identify potential risks in the manufacturing process and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
Oversee inventory management to minimize waste and reduce costs.
Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, controlling costs while optimizing resources.
Analyze financial data related to manufacturing operations and make informed decisions.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising product quality.
Team Leadership and Development
Recruit, train, and develop staff.
Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and other key staff.
Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
Evaluate performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Quality, and Continuous Improvement
Maintain safe and clean work environment for all employees in manufacturing locations
Maintain high standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular audits.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly and effectively.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency.
Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to drive operational improvements.
Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
Implement new technologies and automation to improve manufacturing processes.
Drive innovation in product development and manufacturing techniques.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:
Required Experience
Minimum of 15 years experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Strong leadership and team management abilities to effectively lead people, including the abilities to motivate, train, coach, influence and listen to others.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
Proficiency in manufacturing software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong financial acumen and budget management skills.
Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
Ability to proactively solve immediate issues, as well as form long-term business plans, based on strategic business knowledge, specifically as it relates to manufacturing and operations
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience managing within both unionized, and non-union environment.
Experience in manufacturing leadership in fabrication, machining, painting, and assembly
Excellent project management skills and ability to lead groups in a matrix organization
Ability to perform due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration activities resulting from M&A
Experience in plant utilization analysis, new plant start-ups, and expansions
Demonstrated ability to turn around and lead implementation of best practices, including problem identification and resolution, and manufacturing strategies such as quality assurance, health and safety, continuous improvement and capital/facility improvements
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Lean/Continuous Improvement Training
APICS certification
SAP knowledge
Travel & Working Environment
Overnight travel required up to 30%
The role involves frequent work in a non-climate controlled, safety-sensitive manufacturing with heavy equipment.
May require extended hours during peak production periods or to address urgent issues.
