The Director of Excellence (DOE) leads quality assurance and operational excellence across CII's program portfolio, ensuring alignment with CII's strategic objectives and all contractual, statutory, and ethical standards. Develops and implements strategies for integrating contract-specific policies, ensuring training compliance, and audit preparedness. Ensures that clinical and child welfare services operate at the highest standards by promoting best practices and driving continuous improvement. Oversees continuous quality improvement, quality assurance, clinical training, accreditation, health information management, program audits, technical reviews, subrecipient performance, and record-keeping to ensure staff are properly trained and that necessary documents are maintained and available as required. Works with the Director of Compliance and Operations and other leaders to ensure policies are followed to maintain accreditation, meet contractual requirements, and support the clinical team through training. Plays a key role in CalAIM's "No Wrong Door" initiative, ensuring all clients have access to CII's services. Reviews case notes and referrals to ensure client needs are addressed. Manages the Medi-Cal certification process and ensures staff maintain proper licensure and registrations, while regularly analyzing data to identify trends and improve service delivery.

Provide strategic guidance to executives and leaders, ensuring health information management, quality assurance, and program outcomes meet regulatory standards and organizational goals; advise on quality challenges, integrate key components, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Oversee the design and implementation of policies and processes that enhance quality assurance, outcome measurement, and program integrity across Behavioral Health and Wellness and Child Welfare departments.
Ensure integration of these components to support program success and mitigate risks.
Lead the development and execution of strategies aligned with CII's goals, focusing on quality improvement, continuous integration of practices, clinical training, and audit readiness to maintain agency accreditation and drive program excellence.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Support the management of the Behavioral Health and Wellness and Child Welfare Program Support budgets, ensuring resource allocation aligns with agency objectives and supports program success and sustainability.
Ensure compliance with Department of Mental Health (DMH) and Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS) regulations, integrating these standards into program operations to uphold service quality and regulatory compliance.
Champion client and employee privacy, safeguarding confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Protected Health Information (PHI) and staff Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and ensuring disclosure is limited to authorized entities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the direct reports.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems by taking appropriate actions to mitigate risk.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
10+ years of experience managing individuals, including remote teams
5+ years of experience defining and managing training in a clinical environment.
Master's degree in social work/psychology/Marriage & Family Therapy or related discipline required; Licensure preferred.
Experience with Medi-Cal services and DMH contract services required.
Not-for-profit experience preferred.

Experience designing and implementing comprehensive approaches and programs to support Clinical services teams and integration of agency systems.

COMPENSATION:
$104,616. 00 USD - $130,770. 00 USD
In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to maintain internal inequity and allow opportunity for future salary growth.
