MRI - MRI TechnologistNewark, DE 19713 Exp. Shift: 5 X 8s 40 hrs. / Week 8 hrs. / DayShift - 8 hr. Eve 40 hrs. - shift has 2 pm start time 40 hr., no call, no weekends. Duties: The MRI unit at Suite 107 (Map I) is a Siemens Avanto. Our plan is not to have the agency tech work alone. We have a technologist willing to work the evening shift and we are trying to have clerical support also. Requirements - Certifications: CERT-ARRT- MRI; BLS-AHA - 2 yr exp , Siemens exp. Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The MRI Technologist will operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. This role involves working closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Preparation:

Greet and guide patients, explain MRI procedures, and address any concerns.
Screen patients for contraindications to MRI procedures, such as metal implants or pacemakers.
Position patients correctly to ensure optimal imaging results.
MRI Equipment Operation:

Operate MRI scanners to capture diagnostic images as prescribed by physicians.
Adjust imaging parameters to ensure high-quality results tailored to specific diagnostic needs.
Perform routine quality control checks on MRI equipment and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
Patient Safety:

Ensure compliance with safety protocols to prevent exposure to magnetic fields or other hazards.
Monitor patients during scans and address any signs of discomfort or distress.
Maintain adherence to infection control and cleanliness standards.
Collaboration:

Work closely with radiologists to review and interpret MRI images.
Communicate findings or observations to the healthcare team as needed.
Documentation:

Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including imaging details and procedural notes.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
Education:

Associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or related field.
Completion of an accredited MRI technologist program preferred.
Licensure/Certification:

ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in MRI required.
State licensure or eligibility as required.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
Experience:

Prior experience as an MRI Technologist is advantageous, though not mandatory for entry-level candidates.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in operating MRI equipment and related software.
Strong understanding of human anatomy and imaging protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
Work Environment
Schedule: May include rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
