SALARY RANGE: 20.04 - 29.79HOURLY

General Summary:

The Database Technician is responsible for performing daily database management, secretarial support, and other diversified duties under the general guidance of the Plant Operations Manager or Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Assume reception duties, pleasantly greet visitors and refer them to the appropriate staff members, answer and route phone calls, and take messages Receive telephone and written maintenance requests from hospital departments and satellite properties. Distributes / dispatches work order requests to appropriate personnel. Enters maintenance requests into the work order system.
2. Places service calls to outside contractors regarding equipment troubles and failures, Closes out work orders and updates CMMS database as required. Produce standard and specialized reports as requested. Works with IS department personnel regarding local area network (LAN) issues.
3. Implements database support systems and data access controls for the CMMS, maintains the CMMS database and ensures its performance is kept at an optimum condition.
4. Installs and maintains vendor supplied database software including software upgrades; tests and coordinates implementation procedures. Analyzes database changes requested by Plant Operations mechanics, leads, and managers and makes the appropriate changes as approved.
5. Investigates and corrects database security and integrity problems. Performs database repairs and recovery in the event of partial or full system loss. Input data and print reports with the utilization of utility management software and assist staff with administrative duties as requested.
6. Prints, copies, files, and maintains department policies, procedures, and other relevant documents, making sure they are organized and readily accessible for review. Distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail, performs data input into spreadsheets for the purpose of purchase order tracking and other, departmental expenditures.
7. Inputs and edits data for Kronos electronic timesheets for departmental staff, manage and maintain the department's Director's / Manager's electronic calendar. Log all phone calls received and initiate appropriate follow-up, produce accurately typed reports and spreadsheets, code invoices, and enter work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
8. Take and transcribe minutes of department and committee meetings, update and maintain mailing and phone lists, orders offices materials and supplies, coordinate and schedule appointments and meetings. Prepare and submit paperwork and make arrangements for department seminars, in-services, and any educational requirements.
9. Coordinate travel and lodging accommodations for staff, as requested, perform all duties in accordance with continuous quality improvement principles and the philosophy of the organization.
10. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: High School Diploma or GED
Credential(s):
Experience: Required: Three years of experience in systems and database administration.

Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: Associate Degree
Associate Degree Computer Science or Business Administration
Credential(s):
Experience: Preferred: Previous experience in a Plant Operations environment with database administration or related experience
