News & World Report has just released the 2023-2024 ratings and rankings, in which GW Hospital is recognized as a Best Regional Hospital.
GW ranks 5th in the region, which includes hospitals in D.C.

GW Hospital achieved "High Performing" status in two specialty areas, Neurology and Neuroscience.

GW Hospital received the American College of Cardiology's National Cardiovascular Data Registry (NCDR) Chest Pain Myocardial Infarction (MI) Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2023.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience
• Prepare supplies, equipment, and instrumentation for surgical cases, ensuring that all necessary items are available and ready for use.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, proactively providing instruments and assistance as required.
• Assist in all aspects of surgical procedures, maintaining awareness of the surgical field and responding to the requests of the surgical team.
• Take responsibility for case cleanup, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly disposed of or sterilized after use.
• Assist with patient positioning and transportation, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
• Contribute to room turnovers, preparing the operating room for the next procedure and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness.
• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Demonstrated communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
