Work at a Glance: Building Knowledge, Empowering Communities, Transforming HousingPosition Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Training, the Sr. Manager, Affordable Housing Training and Content Management will lead the creation and delivery of impactful training programs tailored to community development organizations. This role requires expertise in affordable housing and real estate, as well as proficiency in curriculum development and adult learning principles. Key responsibilities include managing content areas, ensuring quality in program delivery, and developing innovative learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:Content Area Leadership:
  • Review and manage the content of up to three tracks of curricula, including affordable housing development, construction, and rehabilitation.
  • Identify and address emerging trends and critical issues in affordable housing, ensuring content remains relevant and impactful.
Program Delivery:
  • Oversee in-person and online training formats, including National and Virtual Training Institutes, Place-Based Training, webinars, and self-guided courses.
  • Ensure training programs meet the diverse needs of community development organizations.
Faculty Management:
  • Recruit, manage, and evaluate a diverse pool of 25+ independent consultants.
  • Provide performance feedback to maintain high-quality curriculum development and training delivery.
Learning Path Strategies:
  • Design and implement innovative learning paths across content areas.
  • Incorporate best practices in adult education and participatory training methods.
Program Enhancement:
  • Strengthen the Professional Certificate Program and Micro-Credential offerings to maximize their value to participants.
  • Regularly update course content to align with participant feedback and industry advancements.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
  • Continuously refine course content, teaching methodologies, and instructor performance using participant feedback and data analytics.
Nature of Work Contacts:

The Senior Manager will interact with training participants, certificate candidates, NeighborWorks® America staff, independent faculty consultants, and representatives from partner organizations. The role requires both independent initiative and collaboration under the guidance of the Director of Curriculum and Training.

Fiscal Responsibilities:

Manage procurement processes related to engaging faculty consultants and vendors. Oversee individual budgets and external fund contract budgets as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • Professional Experience: At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a community-based organization, community development corporation, or public/private sector community development program.
  • Affordable Housing Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing development, construction, rehabilitation, and finance, including familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs and shared equity housing models.
  • Real Estate Acumen: Understanding of single-family and multifamily real estate development, green building practices, and residential real estate lending.
  • Curriculum Development: Proven experience designing, managing, and delivering training programs using adult learning principles.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to create work plans, manage budgets, and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Strong writing, editing, and presentation abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Course Management: Experience managing the creation, revision, and enhancement of courses and workshops, with a focus on sound educational methodologies.
  • Training Expertise: 2-4 years of experience in content development, training delivery, or managing subject matter experts.
  • Education and Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management, curriculum design, or fundraising are a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Travel up to 25%
  • Fast paced working environment, with extensive computer use and technological communication.
  • Hybrid: this role reports to the DC, NYC, or Kansas City office two days per week
Salary Range:

$76,720 - $119,900 (Corresponding areas)

The salary offered for the role will be based on a variety of factors, including geographic location, internal equity, and the candidate's qualifications/professional experience.
