Duties

As a Facility Operations Specialist, you will:

* Keep supervisor informed on status of all building operations projects.

* Inspect buildings and grounds for the purpose of ensuring safe and orderly conditions.

* Responsible for a variety of reports relating to buildings management operations, construction activities, fund expenditures and general facilities services.

* Perform Quality Assurance Inspections of some aspects of a large multi million dollar per annum facilities management contract that includes operation and maintenance of building systems.

* Liaison with the Procurement and Contracts staff for technical matters pertaining to the facility operation contracts to ensure deliverables are according to contract specifications.

* Assist in scheduling and directing the relocation of office furniture and equipment.

* This position does not support 100% remote work. You will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.

* This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment.

* Must be able to maintain and obtain Federal Acquisition Certification for Contracting Officer's Representatives Level I certification.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

GS-09: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-7 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:

1. Assisting the functions of the facilities maintenance trades to include the structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines as they apply to planning and initiating required maintenance, repairs, and improvements to facility systems.

2. Gathering information concerning building operations and contracting procedures to assist in writing reports with conclusions and recommendations.

3. Assisting with the contract administration methods to identify problem areas/trends to ensure contract conditions are met.

OR

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL. B. or J. D. ; your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. For this position, this is defined as a degree in Operations Management, Facilities Management, Building Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration or a similarly related major. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: You may qualify on a combination of education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the educational requirement must equal at least 100 percent.
