Overview
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB's Wethersfield, CT office is seeking an entry-level Traffic Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities
Ability to think independently and manage time on tasks
Willing to learn and experience out of box engineering aspects of the job
Work under a mid-level engineer on a variety of projects and tasks
Work with a team of professionals in a variety of transportation-related areas
Assist with traffic signal design tasks
Complete field data collection tasks
Assist in the preparation of various components of traffic impact, corridor, planning, and intersection improvement studies
Assist with the research and preparation of reports
Work with a team on design concepts, roadway improvements, and roundabout design
Skills and Attributes
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
Experience in transportation analysis software including Synchro
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
Motivated to learn and be mentored
Ability to think out of the box
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering
0-1 years of civil/transportation engineering and planning experience, whether through coursework or professional experience (may include co-op/internship experience)
