We are seeking an equally passionate Solar Electrician to help further our mission through excellent craftsmanship, customer service, and a team-focused approach.
The Solar Electrician installs, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures related to solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations on roofs or other structures in compliance with relevant codes, site assessment and schematics.
May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules.

Essential Job Functions

Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, inverters, PV panels or other components.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors.
Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.

Education/Experience

Electrical and solar experience required.
Experience in reading blueprints, a tape measure and technical drawings.
Must be able to understand service or repair manuals.
Experience in evaluating information to determine compliance with standards.
Inspect electrical installation for code conformance.
Experience in performing safety inspections in construction or resource extraction settings and industrial, manufacturing or repair settings.
Computer aided design CAD software.
Use of SmartDraw software, One Mile Up Panel Planner, Socrates Contractor's Library, and Project Management software.
Use of Craftsman CD Estimator.
Proficiency with Google Workspace preferred.

Base Salary

$40-$45 USD
