Position Overview:
This is a great opportunity to build and develop a strong accounting team while also putting effective accounting processes in place.

The CFO/Owner is eager to collaborate with a Controller to take the accounting department to the next level.

This position will have hands-on involvement with day-to-day accounting.

In addition, the Controller will work collaboratively with the CFO/Owner to ensure the financial statements are accurate and complete.

Ideal candidates must have strong accounting skills while also being able to thrive in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Essential Job Duties:
Ensure day-to-day accounting is entered correctly and that AP and AR are kept up to date.
Complete month and year end closings and post necessary journal entries.
Perform bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that are timely, accurate, and in accordance with GAAP.
Create and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Analyze financial data and make recommendations to the CFO.
Build and develop a strong accounting team to meet the needs of the organization.
Develop and implement effective and efficient accounting processes.
Prepare and submit monthly sales tax forms.
Collaborate with the CFO and other leaders to prepare budgets and forecasts. Work closely with the CFO to monitor budgets and forecasts for variances.
Calculate weekly sales to pay out any commissions and/or bonuses.
Work closely with purchasing and shipping to create effective procedures.
Oversee payroll to make sure everything is completed correctly.
Organize and collect vendor W-9s.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Prior experience in a controller role or similar.
Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Ability and desire to work collaboratively onsite five days per week.
Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control practices.
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for Manufacturing is a plus.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
