The community visual journalist produces photos and video to accompany written stories across a range of beats - neighborhoods, arts and culture, education, city government, health and housing - and tell stories independently as well.
The candidate must be trained in journalism ethics, still photojournalism and video production basics.
The fellow works with the art director to consider what medium and publishing platform works best for each story in order to carry out Mirror Indy's mission.
This position is in partnership with CatchLight.
The corps member will be a CatchLight Local Fellow and along with the host newsroom, be supported by the CatchLight Local Visual Desk.
Salary and Benefits:

$60,000 to $65,000
We will provide camera gear, medical, vision and dental insurance, 15 paid vacation days in the first year, flexible personal time, 9 paid holidays, the week of Independence Day paid off, the days between Christmas Day and New Year's Day paid off, 401K with 4% match, employee assistance program, short-term and long-term disability, retirement plans, options for family leave and leaves of absence, mileage reimbursement, hybrid work arrangement (work-from-home Monday and Friday, work-in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
