Ivy Tech Community College Columbus is looking for an individual to join our team as Assistant Director of Human Resources. The Assistant Director of Human Resources will focus on recruitment and employee engagement efforts for the Columbus Service Area. This individual will administer the recruitment/employment program for full- and part-time faculty and staff positions. Coordinate related professional development training/activities, wellness activities and the college's annual recognition programs. The Assistant Director will help to create an organizational culture that sets clear expectations, provides appropriate support, and engenders respect and dignity at all levels of the organization.

Major Responsibilities-

Owns the recruitment, orientation and onboarding initiatives for new employees.
Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
Source applicants through online channels, such as online recruiting boards and professional networks.
In collaboration with the executive director of human resources and hiring managers, create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
Compile lists of most suitable candidates by assessing their resumes, CVs, portfolios, and references.
Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline.
Assess campus needs relating to diversity, equity, and belonging in hiring practices and employee engagement.
Assists with employee Affirmative Action and other Equal Employment Opportunity programs and initiatives.
Represents the College at various community, civic, professional meetings, and conferences, as requested.
Works collaboratively with the Executive Director of Human Resources and Campus Leadership team to identify employee engagement gaps.
Work with and educate supervisors and colleagues to engage with new hires fully.
Conduct stay and exit interviews on a regular and consistent basis to uncover and identify gaps.
Assist academic chairs with the recruitment and hiring of adjunct faculty.
Oversee adjunct onboarding processes (including new employee paperwork, compliance status, training & orientation).
Plans and oversees the annual campus Employee Recognition Program.
Lead the employee engagement committee.
Coordinate and/or deliver training opportunities for staff and faculty (including required training, enrichment opportunities in professional development and individualized training as needed).
Assist visitors and telephone callers.
Answer general information questions regarding employment.
Support the Executive Director of Human Resources in implementing HR programs, policies, and procedures.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Hiring Range:

$43,000 - $50,000, dependent on education and relevant experience

Work Environment:

Ability to work in an office setting regularly.
Occasional need to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.

This position will be expected to be in person on campus 4-5 days per week and available to travel within the Columbus Service Area.

Minimum Qualifications:

a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field and
one (1) to three (3) years' related work experience

an associate degree or industry-related certification and three (3) to four (4) years of related work experience.
one (1) year full-cycle recruitment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

2-3 years Full cycle recruitment experience
Workday HCM experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
employee event planning experience or involvement
