Join our team as a Surgical Tech Resource. The Surgical Tech Resource works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. While in this Surgical Tech Resource position you will also:
Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed.
Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms.
Coordinate functions and activities for all surgical specialties; maintain appropriate supplies, instruments, vendor needs, and physician preferences.
Cover specialty service in absence of RN specialty leader.
Assist in orienting new hires and training staff for the surgical specialties, i.e. procedures, equipment, new technology and changes in clinical practice.
Participate in strategic planning and related implementation activities.
Day to Day Duties: This position will cover the Vascular Service line.
Scrub on all cases.
Gen, Ortho (trauma) Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, Trauma OB/GYN.
One specialized team for Cardiac, all Associates are cross-trained for all other services.
Give breaks and/or provide additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations.
Assist with Room turnover and restocking for next day's cases.
Maintain Sterile field during procedures.
Hand instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs.
Maintain and update preference cards.
• Previous OR experience required*
17 OR Suites including 1 trauma room, a hybrid Room, Designated CVOR and a Cystoscopy Suite.
400-450 cases/month.
Schedule- Full time- 40hr/wk- Days. Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs.
Call Required- approx. 4 call shifts in 6 week schedule block. Typically no weekend call unless covering team members PTO.
30 Min Callback radius required.
Qualifications: In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Two years of surgical tech experience.
Experience in a specialty field preferred.
Computer skills required.
HS/GED required.
Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado.* A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech.
Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly).
