SUMMARY

Flatwater Inc. is looking to fill this position with the most qualified applicant, Flatwater is a subsidiary of Ho-Chunk Inc. the economic development company of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. The Software Developer is responsible for applying information technology solutions to the NIOGEMS business processes. This role requires extensive knowledge of IT principles, including data storage, software applications, networking, and system security. The developer will engage in a variety of specialized IT tasks such as enterprise architecture, systems analysis, applications software development, and customer support, with a focus on aligning IT strategy with the organizations mission and goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify system objectives, functions, and requirements by collaborating with stakeholders.
Write, debug, and maintain high-quality code using languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
Prepare detailed technical specifications outlining system design and functionality.
Test software code changes using frameworks like JUnit or Selenium.
Analyze and refine system requirements based on feedback and changes in business processes using tools like JIRA or Confluence.
Translate system requirements into application prototypes using tools like Adobe XD or Figma.
Plan and design scalable, secure system architectures using patterns such as microservices.
Develop application architectures that integrate with existing systems and align with best practices and organizational standards.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
Experience with software development frameworks and tools like JUnit, Selenium, JIRA, and Confluence.
Strong understanding of scalable and secure system architecture design, including microservices.
Ability to prepare and interpret detailed technical specifications.
Experience with application development tools like Adobe XD or Figma.
Strong analytical skills to refine system requirements based on feedback.
Expertise in data management, network services, and systems administration.
Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems with considerable autonomy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is required, with 8-10 years of extensive technical expertise in software development; a masters degree is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, or Google Professional Cloud Developer are highly desirable.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
• There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
