Senior Full Stack Developer

Requirements

We're currently seeking a self-starting, mission-driven Full-Stack Developer capable of building out features for our data search and analytics platform that is aimed at transforming the way public safety agencies and community services engage each other. Our platform synthesizes and enriches law enforcement datasets to identify optimal activity patterns and improve officer effectiveness and resource planning.

You will be an integral part of the team designing and building ForceMetrics' current and future software products. As an early member of the ForceMetrics team, you'll have many opportunities to forge our best practices and create areas of ownership for yourself.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Write web application software in React and Python (Django)
Build and fine-tune Elasticsearch queries
Write unit and integration tests
Write stable, scalable code in a highly secure multi-tenant SaaS environment
Participate in sprint planning and organizing deliverables
Develop deep familiarity with the ForceMetrics platform and its unique uses and advantages for solving real-world public safety and societal problems

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

5+ years of experience in software development
Strong desire to collaborate with others
Willingness to learn and challenge yourself
Ability to receive feedback and grow
Proficiency in Javascript and Python
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise way on technical topics
Experience with CSS, Bootstrap, Tailwind, or Material Design
Experience building single-page web applications using Javascript libraries like React, Next.js, Vue.js, etc
Ability to work with cross-functional teams with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desire to work on a lean, fast-paced team where you can take initiative and produce results every day
U.S. Citizen (or Green Card Holder) able to pass an FBI background check in order to work with the highly sensitive data entrusted to us to positively impact the world

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

Early-stage tech startup experience
Passion for making a difference in the lives of many
Past exposure to law enforcement, public safety, or to similar data systems
Computer Science or Engineering degree from 4-year accredited university
Advanced Elasticsearch experience building search queries and aggregations
Experience with object-oriented design and software design patterns
Experience with backend like Django, Flask, CherryPy, Spring, or Spring Boot
Proficiency with Relational Databases (i.e Postgres, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, etc)
Mobile application development like iOS, Android, React Native
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD
Prior experience working on an Agile/Scrum team
