Nature of Work:

This position is an integral part of the OSG Publishing Accounting team and helps to ensure that the month-end close process is as efficient and effective as possible. This position will assist in preparing statements in accordance with accounting guidelines to ensure accurate financial reporting and control, under the supervision of the Controller. Additionally, this position will provide a first-level analytical review and summary of the financial statements. Position title will be dependent on experience.

Examples of work performed:

Direct supervisory duties of the Publishing Accounting team
Prepare, record and analyze monthly journal entries and reports, as assigned
Review journal entries and monthly reporting prepared by the Publishing Accounting team
Review account reconciliations and research reconciling items timely
Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements and management reports upon completion of close responsibilities
Assist in developing accounting policy and procedures, and administer approved accounting procedures
Participate in preparation and coordination of the annual audit
Calculate monthly/quarterly sales commissions
Prepare ad-hoc reporting, as assigned
Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
2. 3-5+ years of demonstrated accounting experience
3. Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office software programs, with advanced Excel skill
4. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire
Preferred
1. Master's degree in Accounting, CPA, or CPA-track a plus
2. Public accounting experience a plus
3. Demonstrated management experience over a team of accountants a plus
4. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics a plus

Compensation:

Base salary range $85,000-$100,000 per annum, depending on experience
Eligible for annual discretionary bonus
