Are you ready to take on the challenge of representing Colorado Springs Utilities as an Engineer V in Transmission System Engineering during this exciting energy transition? You will play a crucial role in our journey towards a sustainable future.

You will be responsible for:

Real-Time Transmission Modeling Support:

• Collaborate with EMS/SCADA personnel regarding the real-time model, state estimator, and contingency analysis tool within the OSI OpenNet product

• Setup, maintenance, and optimization of the power flow and contingency analysis tools

• Communicate changes to the real-time model with the Reliability Center's EMS model

• Gather information from neighboring systems on changes to their models as applicable to the CSU study footprint

• Check out the real-time model during the energization of new facilities

• Troubleshoot failures in the real-time model

• Provide 24/7 on-call support for the real-time model

Transmission System Studies:

• Conduct day-ahead studies for Operational Planning Analysis and Operating Plan

• Perform outage planning studies for the Outage Coordination aspect of Transmission System Operators

• Develop mitigation plans

• Conduct seasonal studies

• Perform emergency operations studies

Participation in Appropriate Organizations:

• Regulatory bodies

• Reliability agencies

• Energy markets

• Leadership of cross-training activities that bridge short-term Operations activities with long-term Planning activities

• Training and education for developing employees in the field of Electrical Power Engineering

Who you are.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

• Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience, with a focus on renewable energy projects

• Strong project management and leadership skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
