We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Center Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing data center solutions that integrate seamlessly with hybrid-cloud and on-premise technologies. This position requires a deep understanding of modern data center architectures, cloud computing platforms, and emerging technologies to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions. As a Data Center Architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies that align with business objectives and technological advancements.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and Architecture:
Develop comprehensive data center designs that support hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments that comply with NIST 800-53 controls
Create scalable and resilient architecture plans to meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to enhance infrastructure performance and efficiency.
Document designs using Cameo Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), Department of Defense Architecture Framework, and/or American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) hardware drawings
Provide supportability analysis of data center hardware and software including end-of-life/end-of-service forecasting
Implementation and Deployment:
Lead the implementation of data center solutions, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy hybrid-cloud solutions and on-premise systems.
Oversee infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and expansions while minimizing downtime.
Management and Optimization:
Monitor data center performance and implement optimizations to improve reliability, security, and efficiency.
Establish and maintain standards for data center operations, including capacity planning and lifecycle management.
Support development of end-to-end system performance models
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify risks and areas for improvement.
Work with data center equipment OEMs to understand product roadmaps and provide impact assessments to program Chief Engineer
Collaboration and Leadership:
Actively participate in multidiscipline Agile teams
Partner with cloud architects, network engineers, and other stakeholders to align strategies and deliver cohesive solutions.
Provide required design information to systems engineering team
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members and other IT staff.
Communicate effectively with executives and non-technical stakeholders to convey complex technical concepts.
Compliance and Security:
Ensure data center solutions adhere to regulatory requirements and organizational security policies.
Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data center architecture, with a focus on hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments.
Expertise in hybrid-cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and on-premise data center technologies.
Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including SDN, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
Experience with storage solutions, such as SAN, NAS, and object storage systems.
Experience with systems engineering tools such as CAMEO a plus
Experience with providing inputs for/developing site installation plans for DoD data centers a plus
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong project management abilities, including planning and execution.
Effective collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Active Top Secret Security Clearance Required
Certifications (Preferred):
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional, or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).

$135,000 - $170,000 a year
