Responsibilities The Attending Psychiatrist of the program is legally and medically responsible for all clinical and treatment decisions, based upon input from staff, or patients within the unit and/or other treatment programs as required or assigned by the Medical Director and/or Executive Director.
Qualifications EDUCATION:
Degree as a medical doctor, from an approved and accredited medical school, with a completed residency in psychiatry; board certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Internship and residency in psychiatry.
KNOWLEDGE:
Must possess knowledge of psychiatric disorders, medical conditions as they relate to psychiatric disorders, and pharmacological interventions.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Attending psychiatrist and unit directors are directly accountable to the Medical Director of FHP for any and all matters related specifically to the clinical and medical care, and coverage of each patient; and to the Executive Director for any and all administrative matters related to the staffing of each program or unit and supervision of personnel.
