Position Summary

Join our team as an HVAC Lead Technician, where you'll play a crucial role in troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing HVAC systems and related equipment. This position involves managing specific agreements or projects to ensure we meet contractual commitments in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

Utilize your technical expertise to help other service representatives troubleshoot issues.
Demonstrate a passion for training others and help develop service technicians and trainees.
Mentor technicians in problem-solving techniques without giving them direct answers.
Stay current with technical knowledge about equipment and latest concepts in the field.
Evaluate when to repair or replace systems based on thorough analysis.
Access and review manuals and online resources for troubleshooting support.
Engage with technical organizations to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Manage a high volume of service calls effectively.
Address customer complaints systematically to identify underlying issues.
Follow troubleshooting guides to quickly identify faults in systems.
Avoid callbacks by thoroughly checking systems before completing jobs.
Perform safety checks on controls before leaving the job site.
When faced with challenging problems, collaborate with team members to find solutions before departing.
Utilize appropriate tools and instruments for all troubleshooting tasks.
Communicate with customers upon arrival, departure, and any plans to return.
Investigate customer complaints to uncover the real problems.
Respond empathetically to customer concerns.
Educate customers on proper system use when issues arise from user error.
Assure customers that problems are resolved and explain causes and remedies; if not resolved, provide clear next steps.
Prioritize jobs effectively, including maintaining an organized schedule, handling interruptions, and ensuring proper tools and materials are on-site.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork and obtain customer signatures on service reports before beginning work.
Keep management informed about any unfavorable news or changes in customer satisfaction regarding pricing.
Adapt your communication style to explain instructions and concepts clearly to customers of varying technical proficiency.
Empower customers to manage system emergencies and recognize when to seek professional service.
Recognize and address necessary customer training to enhance their system understanding.
Provide valuable sales leads and inform the sales team about competitive efforts and service opportunities.
Determine who is responsible for mechanical systems within the customer's organization.
Advise customers on replacing outdated systems and provide recommendations.
Support sales in pricing agreements and special projects as assigned by your manager.
When the Supervisor is present, you may direct smaller work groups.
While you won't have disciplinary authority, you are expected to report any performance issues to the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
