The Safe Parking Outreach Specialist conducts screenings and assessments for individuals seeking Safe Parking services at various sites. This role partners with outreach teams to connect the unhoused community with shelter and housing resources. The specialist works closely with staff to provide input and guidance on screening, assessment, and referrals, and coordinates services with other public and private agencies serving the homeless population.

We would love to hear from someone who:

Has a Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with 2 years of experience working with vulnerable populations.
Has knowledge of community resources in San Luis Obispo County.

As the Coordinated Entry Systems Specialist you will:

Conduct screenings and assessments for individuals seeking Safe Parking services.
Partner with outreach teams to link clients with shelter and housing resources.
Provide guidance on screening, assessment, and referrals.
Coordinate services with public and private agencies.
Monitor safe parking locations for safety, rule compliance, and cleanliness.
Complete check-in and check-out procedures at safe parking locations.
Assist case managers in outreach and client assignments.
Help participants access services such as car repair and job training.
Ensure accurate data entry into relevant databases.
Attend meetings and trainings to stay informed and effective.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
Based on the program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan's Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
