IT Purchasing Specialist

As an IT Purchasing Specialist, you will support CAPSLO's mission by ensuring that purchased products and materials meet technical specifications. You will negotiate purchase terms, evaluate supplier performance, and manage the receiving, storing, and shipping of technology-related materials. Your role will also involve resolving supply issues and responding to inquiries about IT purchases and stock orders.

We would love to hear from someone who:
Has a High School Diploma.
Has an Associates degree in Business Administration or related area preferred .
Has experience purchasing PC hardware, peripherals and software licenses preferred .
Has experience in an administrative support position, preferably for non-profit or a public entity.
Level I: Has one year of increasingly responsible experience in purchasing a variety of general and specialized items, shipping and receiving, inventory and basic accounting.
Adequate skill in operation of calculators and the ability to work with figures accurately.
Computer skills should include, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to learn new computer systems to work effectively using the current purchasing systems.

Level II: Additional two years' experience equivalent to that gained as IT Purchasing Specialist I with CAPSLO
Have excellent communication and negotiation skills, be an analytical thinker, and demonstrate a good working knowledge of purchasing, shipping, and receiving and inventory strategies.

As an IT Purchasing Specialist, you will: Prepare and review technology-related purchase requests.
Ensure requisitions conform to supply system criteria.
Manage shipping and receiving of materials.
Inspect incoming materials and handle discrepancies.
Maintain inventory specifications and stocking levels.
Prepare bids, proposals, and negotiate purchase terms.
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Support departments with purchasing needs and inquiries.
Stay updated on technological changes and purchasing techniques.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
Must submit proof of current vaccination status for measles, pertussis, and influenza (or a current, signed influenza declination form) in compliance with SB 792.
Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
Must complete a health screening physical completed within 30 days prior to employment and a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all job requirements and background requirements: criminal history check (Inclusive of DOJ, FBI and Child Abuse), acknowledgement of child abuse reporting responsibility, criminal record statement (Form LIC508), etc. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
Upon hire agency staff will check the Megan's Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Program administrative staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
Must meet the Head Start Performance Standards and State requirements.
Employment in Head Start, Early Head Start and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Programs is contingent upon approval of the Policy Council.
