The Opportunity
Kandji is looking for an exceptional Sr.
System Administrator or Sr.
Quality Assurance Engineer to join our growing team! No prior experience in formal QA testing is required if coming from a System Administration background.
At Kandji, we use an embedded team model for our QA Engineers.
You will be placed directly on a development team and work with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers.
As the QA representative on the development team, you will own all of the functional testing requirements for that project, uphold quality best practices, and communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders.
You will be expected to proactively build and execute test plans, manage larger testing projects, and work in tandem with developers/product/ux to deliver the highest quality features/code for our customers.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and growing our automated test coverage via Playwright.
Overall, we are looking for testers who can exhibit a high amount of ownership, technical aptitude, passion, and communication to bring our team to the next level.
How you'll make a difference day to day Manage, drive, and own the entire functional testing process for your scrum team
Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, swarm test sessions, and test procedures
Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
Reproduce, diagnose, and document software defects with clarity and precision
Engage in early product development discussions to ideate, review, and catch potential issues before code is written
Attend and contribute to daily scrum ceremonies
Work closely with developers to identify and iterate on all code moving through the system
Contribute to growing our automation test coverage and maintenance of tests
Maintain high levels of communication with all team members, stakeholders, and the QA team
Be the champion for our users by upholding quality standards and best practices
Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a device management or software testing role
Excellent time management, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, methodical, and out-of-the-box thinking
Required to work on-site 5x a week in our San Francisco office.
Nice to have, but not required Exceptional knowledge of QA fundamentals and best practices:
test strategies, test planning, test execution, defect management, reporting, etc.
5+ years in a device management or software testing role
Experience with issue-tracking systems, such as Jira, Rally, Trello, etc.
Exposure to Agile development environments and associated scrum activities, such as planning, grooming, retrospective, etc.
Experience with test case management systems, such as TestRail, qTest, Zephyr, etc.
Extensive hands-on experience testing or managing the deployment of Apple hardware, software, and services
Significant knowledge in the areas of Apple hardware and software integration within an enterprise setting, including printers, WiFi, directory services, Kerberos, SSO, etc.
Fluency with shell scripting, Python, and/or the macOS command line
Comfortable using terminal to execute commands, run scripts, etc.
Knowledge of the MDM space
Ability to test API requests via Postman or other similar tools
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github Actions, AWS CodePipeline
Experience working with IDE's and Git
Experience with Playwright automation
$135,000 - $170,000 a year These requirements are for the strongest, ideal candidate.
