Job Summary:
The Cost Accounting Manager will oversee the cost accounting functions, manage a small team, and provide financial insights to support key business decisions. This role will collaborate across departments and present cost analysis and financial data to senior leadership, contributing to the development and implementation of cost-effective strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, Excel, SAP, and have previous people management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3 employees, providing coaching and support for career development.
Develop, analyze, and present cost reports and financial data to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Work closely with cross-functional departments to understand cost drivers and provide financial insights.
Present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders in an understandable and actionable format.
Support senior leadership with strategic decisions through cost analysis and reporting.
Participate as a key member of the Logistics Leadership Team, providing financial leadership and guidance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to improve business profitability.
Utilize strong Excel and SAP skills to analyze and present financial data.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
5-7 years of experience in cost accounting, with a preference for experience in manufacturing or logistics-related environments.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.
Proficiency in SAP for financial reporting and analysis.
Previous people management experience, including leading a small team.
Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate financial data to both senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and influence skills.
Desired Skills: Ability to understand and communicate cost accounting principles to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in financial reporting.
Demonstrated experience in cost analysis and presenting to leadership teams.
Education: Bachelors Degree
