Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse/Operations Supervisor, Nursing Administration, you'll play a vital role in combining expertise with administrative acumen to ensure the hospital runs seamlessly. Your responsibilities include:

Clinical Support:
You provide crucial clinical assistance, ensuring patients receive optimal care even during non-standard hours.
Patient Throughput:
Facilitating efficient patient movement through the hospital is vital for maintaining operational efficiency, and you play a key role in achieving this.
Compliance and Standards:
You uphold regulatory requirements and maintain standards to ensure the hospital operates within legal and ethical boundaries.
Crisis Management:
In times of crisis or disaster, you assume an administrative role, coordinating responses and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
Problem Resolution:
You're the go-to person for addressing operational issues promptly and effectively, maintaining the smooth functioning of hospital operations.
Leadership and Role Modeling:
As a professional leader, you set the standard for others to follow. Your actions and decisions reflect the values and objectives of the organization.
Communication:
Maintaining open lines of communication with clinical, medical, and managerial staff is crucial for effective coordination and problem-solving.

Experience:

3 years of critical care/emergency nursing experience with demonstrated excellence in clinical nursing practice and leadership.

Education:

BSN preferred. RNs with an associate degree must enroll in an accredited BSN program within 30 days of employment and complete it within 4 years.

Licensure/Certifications:

Current California RN license
BLS certification from American Heart Association
ACLS, PALS, and MAB certification
LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of hire
Mgmt. of Assaultive Behavior (CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention) within 30 days of hire

Specific Responsibilities:
The role of Registered Nurse/Operations Supervisor, Nursing Administration Unit encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, from clinical support and patient care to administrative leadership and problem-solving. Your ability to effectively coordinate patient throughput, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with staff and leadership is crucial for maintaining the smooth functioning of the hospital.

Clinical:

Resource for Staff:
You're there to support and guide staff on clinical and safety matters whenever they need assistance.
Medication Errors and Adverse Outcomes:
You assist staff in recognizing and reporting medication errors or adverse patient outcomes as per hospital policy.
Emergency Response:
You're on the frontline during emergencies, responding to all hospital codes and other critical situations to assess and provide assistance with patient care and staffing.
Patient Placement and Care:
Understanding the scope of practice and competency of staff, you ensure appropriate patient placement and care based on clinical criteria.

Throughput:

Direction and Coordination:
You provide guidance and coordination to optimize patient throughput, ensuring efficient movement within the hospital.
Barriers Removal:
By identifying and removing barriers to transfers or admissions, you facilitate smooth patient flow.
Bed Management:
You lead bed board meetings and coordinate patient flow, especially during high census times.
Conflict Mediation:
You mediate conflicts related to patient flow, ensuring policies and procedures are followed to maintain patient satisfaction.

Administrative Leadership:

Communication and Collaboration:
You keep executive leaders informed and collaborate with other managers and directors to ensure consistent implementation of policies and practices.
Staffing and Emergency Preparedness:
You ensure adequate staffing for shifts, participate in emergency preparedness planning, and verify licenses and certifications for staff.
Problem-Solving and Flexibility:
You recognize priorities, accept changes, and develop solutions to address problems effectively.
Customer Service:
You actively participate in customer service activities, displaying sensitivity to diverse cultures, ages, and individuals with disabilities.

Salary Range:
$63.77 to $80.52 per hour
