The Role: Labor & Employment Counsel (Mid to Senior Level) | Los Angeles or San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Mid to Senior Level Labor & Employment Counsel to join one of our prestigious clients in their Los Angeles or San Francisco office. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful employment law matters in a collaborative and innovative environment, providing both litigation defense and advice and counseling to employers.

In this position, you will:

Represent employers in a wide range of employment disputes, including claims involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful discharge.

Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and preparing for trial.

Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to employers on wage and hour compliance, policy updates, and employee relations issues.

Defend employers in individual, collective, and class action wage and hour disputes.

Collaborate with clients to develop preventive strategies that mitigate legal risks.

Represent clients in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this Mid to Senior Level Labor & Employment Counsel role is a seasoned attorney with expertise in California employment law and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Key attributes of the ideal candidate include:

Experience:

5+ years of experience in employment law, with at least 2 years handling California-specific employment law matters.

Litigation experience, including handling depositions, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Experience advising employers on complex legal matters, including wage and hour compliance, workplace investigations, and policy development.

Credentials:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Active California Bar membership in good standing.

Technical Skills:

Strong research and writing skills, with experience drafting motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.

Proficiency with litigation tools, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, and e-discovery platforms.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize legal and factual information and develop effective litigation and counseling strategies.

Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly to clients and in court.
