INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION MANAGER

The Department of Social Services is currently offering an outstanding career opportunity for experienced, driven information technology professionals who would like to further their career as an Information Technology Division Manager .
The Information Technology Division Manager, reporting to a Deputy Director, is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of division programs, policies, and procedures, and managing and supervising the staff and activities of the Information Technology Division.
These activities include:
systems development, installation, configuration, and maintenance; network security of global applications, infrastructure and data; design, configuration and maintenance of vendor hardware and operating system software for server, storage, network, and workstation products and services; virtualization technologies for server and desktop infrastructure; software imaging, asset inventory; and software compliance.
Positions in this classification are in MEDICAL GROUP I - Light Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8).
This group includes positions which require only light physical effort and may include lifting of small, light objects and some bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
Considerable walking or standing may be involved.
Successful candidates may be required to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Education:
Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system.
Experience:
Three (3) years of full-time, paid supervisory or managerial work experience over information technology staff in an information technology environment.
Substitution:
Possession of a master's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
License:
Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent, may be required.
Other:
As a condition of employment, selected candidates will be required to undergo and pass a background investigation, which may include a Live Scan.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Certify Without Examination:
In instances where the number of eligible candidates is less than or equal to the number of qualified applicants the Department is entitled to receive under Personnel Rule 4212, the competitive examination process will be waived and the names will be certified without an examination.
Oral Examination:
An oral examination includes a panel consisting of at least two members within a similar field of expertise as the vacancy.
Candidates are asked structured questions and must respond orally to allow the panel to evaluate the specific qualifications of each applicant.
Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list effective for a minimum of 3 months (may be extended up to 12 months) and certified as vacancies occur.
