Assistant Director, Finance, Strategy, and Integration (Transplant)

Location: Keck Medicine of USC, Los Angeles, California

Job Type: Full Time, 8 Hour Days (Exempt, Non-Union)

The Associate Director, Finance, Strategy, and Integration (Transplant) is responsible for financial operations oversight of the Transplant Institute, including insurance compliance, charges, billing, reimbursement, and applicable policies and procedures established by CMS, UNOS, and other regulatory agencies. This role includes oversight of the transplant Medicare cost report related tasks and activities, serving as the primary liaison with the hospital system revenue cycle and finance departments. It involves maintaining relationships that facilitate accurate and complete financial systems for the business of Transplant.

Essential Duties:

Creates annual operating and capital budgets, developing and distributing comprehensive financial reports regularly.
Develops and implements procedures to support successful financial performance of the program.
Works with Finance to submit data required for the Medicare Cost Report and ensures compliance with cost report regulations.
Manages philanthropic and other funds to ensure appropriate documentation for disbursement.
Completes Standard Acquisition Charge (SAC) and clinic RVU review regularly.
Coordinates with the office management team and Accounting to ensure completion of financial tasks.
Manages transplant institute payer contracts and collaborates for renewal/termination/initiation.
Creates and submits capital requests, monitoring timely and accurate billing and collection of transplant accounts.
Ensures timely responses to UNOS and payor/network RFI requests.
Optimizes and monitors the use of the living donor fund, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provides effective management of various cost centers and develops relationships with finance, budget, and compensation personnel.
Develops dashboards to summarize and report on outcomes, utilizing data and benchmarks to support goals.
Partners with leadership to advance improvement initiatives and proposals.
Facilitates annual goal development for the department in collaboration with leadership.
Provides feedback and coaching for staff, identifying development opportunities.
Attends daily huddles and covers shared management responsibilities as needed.
Develop and implement market-specific strategies to achieve strategic plans.
Conduct meetings with internal partners to evaluate key initiatives.
Monitor trends and adjust strategies to maximize patient referral volume and revenue growth.
Identifies opportunities for new services and program offerings.
Partners with department leaders to develop and execute strategic imperatives.
Assists in financial analysis and reporting to assess business opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Commerce, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field.
Master's in Healthcare Administration.
5 years of professional experience in finance or related healthcare administration with budget management responsibility.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent analytical and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently amidst frequent interruptions.
Transplant finance and business experience, including knowledge of transplant reimbursement.
Demonstrated project management skills.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) - Must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already certified.

The annual base salary range for this position is $133,120.00 - $219,648.00.
