Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Financial Analyst 3 will independently perform high-level budgetary and financial functions for Enrollment Management units, programs, and initiatives. Assists in the preparation and establishment of budgets, organizes resources according to budgetary plans, prepares both routine and ad hoc financial reports, and interprets and applies university regulations, policies, and procedures. Exercises initiative and sound judgment in the oversight and management of purchases, procurement, and travel expense approvals. Supervises, coaches, and provides leadership to three staff members.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work for extended periods of time at a computer terminal using a keyboard.
Move and transport materials weighing up to 40 lbs. A hand cart is available.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Minimum Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or other related fields or equivalent work-related experience
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis and business management of large or complex portfolios, including forecasting and strategic planning, to identify and analyze fiscal and budgetary issues, compile financial data and prepare financial reports.
Experience performing high-level financial management tasks in a multi-fun source environment. Experience in accounting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, and general ledgers. Experience maintaining accountability and establishing audit trails and internal controls.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
Proven interpersonal skills to provide advice to staff members at all department levels; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent organizational skill to determine workload priorities to meet deadlines and enable timely completion of assigned tasks.
Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal direction.

Preferred Education/Experience
Experience with UC Davis policies and web-based procurement, supply chain management, and travel systems.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)
Ability to learn and effectively use UC Davis financial information systems-including but not limited to Aggie Enterprise, UC Path, and Cognos-at a high level to identify, research, report, and advise on department finances.
