Blue-Halo.org - Electro-Optic Engineer

BlueHalo has an opportunity available for an experienced full-time electro-optical engineer to join a small, multi-disciplined team working on research and development (R&D) projects within the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on researcher conducting materials characterization and development efforts on various forms of linear and nonlinear optical materials.
Roles and responsibilities:

Application of acquired knowledge in laser design/operation, optical design, and experimental set-up to aid in materials characterization research.
Research will span laser wavelengths from the visible to long wave infrared and at pulse widths from picosecond to continuous wave.
Work experience will need to be applied in numerous and frequently changing technical analyses.
Manage multiple projects with fast-changing requirements and advanced application of technical results.
Qualifications:


Must have 8+ years of experience in laser development, laser operation and laboratory environment.
Broad knowledge of laser design/operation, optical design, materials characterization, and experimental set-up.
Candidate must be detail-oriented and able to flourish in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with minimal oversight.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Must be a US citizen.
