Demand Supply Planner

What you will do:

The Demand Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining the consensus demand plan at multiple levels of aggregation, utilizing statistical models within ERP and leveraging insights from Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams. This plan encompasses sales from JCI to a network of distributors, integrators, and direct customers. Additionally, this role is accountable for supply planning activities, ensuring optimal inventory and capacity from JCI factories and third-party suppliers, while executing phase-in/phase-out plans globally. The ideal candidate will have exposure to inventory and capacity planning, forecasting, finance, manufacturing, product management, and key performance metrics, collaborating closely with JCI peers for the development, implementation, and maintenance of standard operating procedures and industry best practices.

How you will do it:

DEMAND PLANNING

• Develop accurate and timely demand plans for material and capacity, optimizing inventory and working capital while minimizing forecast variability over a rolling 12 months.
• Maintain and refine demand planning performance metrics including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, revenue forecast accuracy, and IBP maturity.
• Evaluate and define gaps in demand plans versus top-down business objectives.
• Understand data requirements to support supply planning processes; communicate with cross-functional leaders to improve quality through trend analysis, seasonality, and historical performance.
• Develop specific forecast models for SKUs to meet revenue goals and customer service levels.
• Ensure alignment of demand plans with product roadmaps, sales outlooks, and operational targets while providing variance analysis.
• Utilize current demand planning systems to create the best statistical forecasts.
• Identify root causes of demand plan errors and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Implement inventory stocking strategies and manage strategic inventory entitlements for key products and customers.

IBP PROCESS

• Oversee the Demand Planning portion of the IBP process, ensuring consistency of demand plans at each aggregation level.
• Lead consensus meetings with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Senior Leadership.
• Define and present risk assessments and mitigation plans to senior management.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

• Establish collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
• Work with Product Management, Sales, Finance, and Operations to maintain an understanding of customer practices relevant to forecasting and ordering processes.
• Operate in a fast-paced global environment, developing ad hoc reports integrating data from diverse sources.

• 5+ years of experience in Demand Planning within a global manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Strong analytical and data skills (Excel, Access, SQL, etc.).
• Comprehensive knowledge of forecasting technology, supply chain management, and constraints management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of influencing business stakeholders.
