Job Summary/Objective:
The Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing engineering projects aimed at modifying and improving processes, adding new capabilities, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality within a food-manufacturing environment. This role involves working cross-functionally to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget while adhering to strict industry standards and regulations.
Essential Functions:

Evaluate and implement engineering technology and methods changes to improve operational efficiency.
Develop and execute project plans aligned with engineering and customer objectives, measuring performance against key metrics.
Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve technical obstacles and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Analyze engineering drawings and models to identify and implement manufacturing methodologies for fabrication.
Work directly with vendors to design, fabricate, install, and test new equipment.
Direct internal resources and contractors to implement process and infrastructure changes.
Collaborate across teams and functions to assess and enact change in steady and controlled manner.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing and production issues, providing remote support when necessary.

Technical Knowledge:

Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Lean Manufacturing principles, and data analytics tools.
Problem-Solving:

Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
Project Management:

Capable of managing multiple high-impact projects concurrently, with a focus on achieving significant cost savings.
Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Adaptability:

Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and prioritize tasks effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

May supervise technicians, and project teams on an as-needed basis.
Work Environment:

Primarily operates in a food-manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and manufacturing equipment.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
Occasional requirement to work in confined spaces or elevated positions.
Position Type:

Full-Time
Work Hours:

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
Travel:

Up to 15% travel may be required, primarily within the United States, for site visits, supplier Factory Acceptance Tests, Trade Shows and project meetings.
Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on project management in a food-manufacturing environment.
Experience and competency using AUTO-Cad to create and modify equipment layouts
Understanding of essential safety, health, and compliance requirements and regulations.
Familiarity with process technology, controls, and automation.
Preferred Education & Experience:

Master's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).
PMP Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
Experience with JDE and other manufacturing software systems (AutoCAD, MS Project, & MS Office) .
